Sanctuary Faith
In Arizona — not in some third world country — but in our very own neighborhoods in Arizona, 1 in 3 children go to bed hungry.
This summer, The Sanctuary will be home to a summer food program that will feed breakfast and lunch to kids ages 1-18. Many families depend on school programs to feed their children, and when school’s out, many of these families are unable to provide the kind of meals these children desperately need. The Sanctuary wants to fill that need, but needs help.
We are hosting a silent auction fundraiser on FIRST FRIDAY, May 4th, 7:30 to 10pm. The evening will feature special musical guests Elements of Jazz, Geoff Hurley, Chris Burch, the Sanctuary band, and more! Please tell everyone you know to come be a part of this fantastic event to end hunger among our children!
We are asking you to look at this growing problem, and if you agree that this is something that we can no longer turn away from, then please consider joining us in our effort. Sanctuary Faith 911 W. Woodland Ave.

May 4 – 26, 2012: “Recycle” by Thomas Barker
Thomas Barker creates photographs as a means of communication; to begin a dialogue with others as well as himself. His intention is to introduce imagery whose value can only be fully realized through the perception of the viewer. Giving voice to his own stories, while being cognizant of the stories the audience brings, his photographs transcend intellectual images of the world to include the observer as a participant. It is in this interaction that the image creates stories of life, intrigue and passion; bringing about questions of our values, esthetics, and what it means to be a participant in life.
By the time he was forty he had volumes of negatives and no prints. For him, it didn’t really matter, it was the making of the image that was important. He studied design, painting and photography at Pratt Institute and The University of New Mexico.
It is only now that his eye, the camera, and his existence have become one that he is willing to let others see, sometimes literally, completely unprotected and naked.
