Announcing the Holiday Shopping Extrava-GRAND-za on Lower Grand Avenue, Saturday, December 5

A day of art, crafts, music, food, and more on Lower Grand Avenue. The perfect place to find affordable, artistic holiday gifts for everyone on your list!

The Grand Avenue Merchants’ Association announces the first annual “Holiday Shopping Extrava-GRAND-za” on Saturday, December 5 starting at 10 am on Lower Grand Avenue. Businesses and galleries along Lower Grand Avenue between 10th Ave and 15th Ave will be open all day long offering affordable, artistic holiday gifts and a variety of activities for the whole family. Special events will include:

• Craft Fair at Bragg’s Pie Factory featuring handmade arts and crafts from more than 20 local crafters, 10 am to 5 pm.
• Holiday Bazaar at Gallery Marsiglia featuring art and accessories from local artists, 1-5 pm.
• Devious Indie Fashion Show/Art in Motion III at ShopDevious.com with rooftop music and sidewalk comedians. Live dance performances from Opendance. Swanky Modish Motifs Designs & RunZwithScissors will present custom designs for Fashion In Motion III. Cone Arts will create a live “Devious Indie Fashion Experience Collage” from photos taken at the event.
• The PHiX Gallery presents “<99 Show”. Fine artists will present works priced at $99 and under. This show will include works by painters, cartoonists, and a local woodworker using found materials. The PHiX will be open from 10 am to 5 pm with live music.
• Winter Wonderland with Santa at Wicked Wear and Paisley Town – Special breakfast/snack menu from Paisley Violin Café, pictures with Santa, storytelling, music, face painting, and snow from 8 am to 2 pm. Evening gift making workshop, live music, pictures with Santa, holiday lights, dinner specials at Paisley Violin Café and more from 6 to 10 pm.
• Paisley Town will host live music from noon to 11 pm. Live glass blowing demonstrations and glass jewelry available from 3 to 10 pm. Shop for clothing, accessories, art, crafts and more!
• Phoenix Fall Space and the ambient studio at La Melgosa will be open with live music on the back patio.
• Sweets & Beats will open at noon and host live music starting at 3 pm with Liam and the Ladies and Man About a Dog.
• Kooky Krafts will have x-mas decorations for sale including chenille snowflakes, icicles, and ornaments made from velvet leaves, hair curlers, birds and other fun things. Also, over 100 beautiful chenille wreaths will be on display and make wonderful holiday gifts or decorations. Lots of other fun gifts.
• Sapna Café at Bragg’s Pie Factory will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.
• ASU dance students Melissa Britt and Melissa Canto will present Emerging Artists Re-site I, a live dance production at Bragg’s Pie Factory at 8 pm. The performance will explore the history of the Pie Factory building, challenging the audience’s perception of how dance can be viewed and bringing awareness to the site.
• ASU sculpture students will present an exhibition at Bragg’s Pie Factory from 6 to 8:30 pm.
